The Turkish Baths of Slatinjë

In the village of Slatinjë, 5km Southwest of Çorovodë, there is evidence of medieval baths dating back to the period of Ottoman rule in Albania. The baths were built to satisfy the needs of the medieval lifestyle and we now know that this was one of the first steps towards the organization of a modern civilization, which was made possible through the construction and use of these special baths.

These baths resemble the work of a masterful stone worker that incorporated stones of all types and sizes. The work seen at the baths resembles the mastery seen in other medieval creations such as in arches, bridges, and mosques of that period. Academics believe that these baths are the only one of their kind,
not only in Skrapar, but in the entire country.
